The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
